The e-CITIZEN programme is simple and straightforward. Candidates learn about the opportunities the internet presents and gain practical experience in its ease of use and convenience. The programme has an easy-to-follow look and feel with a clear and logical progression pathway.
Candidates should ideally have an EQUALSKILLS level of computer skills before enrolling for e-CITIZEN.
How is e-CITIZEN Taught?
e-CITIZEN is a tutor-led programme. Candidates are supplied with a workbook which includes tasks that are designed to allow them to become more involved with online culture. (Candidates may also purchase an elearning single-user CD from Electric Paper.

A custom built website called Safety Net ads a practical dimension by recreating various online experiences. By using Safety Net candidates can practice booking tickets, banking and shopping online, all in a safe, simulated environment.
Candidates also gain access to the community website for e-Citizen and other ECDL programmes, MyClick. Candidates receive a free MyClick webmail account and through the site they can communicate with each other and access a wealth of advice and information on training and technology.
How long will it take to complete the e-CITIZEN programme?
The programme will take approximately 25 hours of training. It is designed to be flexible so that candidates can learn at their own pace.
Is there a test?
There is a simple and straightforward test at the end of the programme. As it is delivered online the test provides a continuation of studies, where candidates can put their new found skills to use. Training centres will need a broadband service to administer e-Citizen tests.
